PRACTICE AREAS
Public and Regulated Utilities
Our Public Utility Practice attorneys offer extensive experience representing all types of clients before the Louisiana Public Service Commission (LPSC) and other regulatory bodies. We represent regulated public utilities and other regulated entities before the LPSC in rate cases, cost of service investigations, prudence investigations, complaint proceedings, rule-making proceedings, and various other regulatory proceedings affecting natural gas, telecommunications, and pilotage services. Our attorneys also represent commercial, industrial, and residential ratepayers before the LPSC, other regulatory bodies, and in state and federal courts. Our representation of ratepayers and consumers in public utility-related matters extends to contract and transactional issues, overcharge complaints, and quality of service complaints. We are intimately involved in and counsel our clients regarding the construction and operation of cogeneration and non-utility merchant power generation facilities in Louisiana. We represent numerous clients in the potential deregulation of the electric market within Louisiana and in matters involving access to and competition within the wholesale power market.
