Shannon M. Frese is a native of St. Louis, Missouri, who has resided in New Orleans for the last 15 years. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Russian & Soviet History and Political Science from the University of Missouri - Columbia and her Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from Loyola University New Orleans School of Law. At Loyola, she was recognized as a William L. Crowe Scholar and Member of the Law Review and received Law Excellence Awards in Legal Research & Writing, Conflict of Laws, and Evidence.

Ms. Frese was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar in 2005 and since that time has practiced in both state and federal court in the area of insurance defense defending individuals, businesses, employers, insurance companies, and self-insured funds against property, personal injury, automobile, workers compensation, general commercial and employer's liability claims. For the last ten years, as a member of Fontana & Seelman, LLP and now Roedel Parsons Koch Blache Balhoff & McCollister, ALC, who merged in 2013, she has focused her practice primarily in workers compensation litigation. She has vigorously represented the interests of hundreds of Louisiana employers and helped defend cases which resulted in successful misrepresentation defenses leading to zero verdicts, employee benefits forfeiture, civil fines against fraudulent employees, and court referrals to the Office of Workers' Compensation Fraud Division and the Orleans Parish District Attorney's office. She has also spoken at several seminars and continuing legal education conferences on various workers compensation topics as well as legal ethics and professionalism.
