Brent J. Bourgeois is a native and life-long resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. After graduating from Catholic High School and LSU (B.S. Business Admin, 1989), and attending LSU Graduate School (Finance), Brent attended LSU Law School, where he served on the Moot Court Board, and obtained a Juris Doctorate in 1994. He is a long-time member of the Baton Rouge and Louisiana State Bar Associations and has been practicing law at Roedel Parsons since August 1994.

Brent earned valuable legal experience early in his career litigating insurance defense matters, product liability law, workers' compensation defense, toxic tort defense and various types of construction cases. Knowledge and experience gained during his years in litigation have been fundamental in shaping Brent's current practice.
Brent currently concentrates his practice in the areas of Business Formation, Transactions, and Planning, Construction Law, Landlord/Tenant Law, and Estate Planning, Wills, Trusts and Successions. He regularly assists his clients in drafting and negotiating contracts in the areas of purchases, sales, leases, AIA construction, employment and management.

His work experience over the past two-plus decades in the varied and diverse areas of Public Practice, Private Entity Representation, State and Local Government Representation, Real Estate and Transactional Work, Regulatory and Administrative Law, Sports Facilities and Tax Exempt Organizations, and various manners of litigation, provides him with an uncommon depth and breadth of legal knowledge and experience that is invaluable to his clients.

Brent's practice experience has been both successful and wide-ranging. In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, Brent served a legal support role in the rebuilding and repairs to the Superdome, the Smoothie King Arena, Zephyrs Field and the Alario Center. In the ensuing years, he participated in drafting and negotiating multiple contracts involving these facilities and associated professional sports teams. Additionally, Brent provided a wide range of legal representation for several years to the Tiger Athletic Foundation and the LSU Foundation. Those representations included contract negotiation, corporate work, tort litigation, construction contracting, bond work and successions. He also provided legal representation to LSU and the State of Louisiana related to the acquisition of property for the enormous LSU/VA Medical Center complex in New Orleans.

Brent and his wife Tracy live in Baton Rouge. They have two sons, Cole and Mason, who are currently in college and high school. Brent and Tracy are involved in and volunteer at their local church and their children's schools.
